Ķemeri national park is the 3rd biggest park in Latvia. It was founded in 1997. It is located in the western part of the town Jūrmala as well as in the regions of Jelgava, Babīte, Tukums, Engure and Lapmežciems. Its territory is 38 165 ha.

In Ķemeri national park the process of formation of therapeutic mud and mineral water is going on. Earlier it was the basis of developing a well-known spa resort there. You can find there a variety of high and low swamps, lagoon lakes Dūņieris, Kaņieris, Skola, Valgums. The biggest swamps are Great Kemeri Bog and Witch swamp.
